“Sounds like a car alarm going off after a crash into an untuned radio in a steel manufacturing factory. This is a good thing.”
Tommy Mackay (2018, p.164)
Perhaps best understood as an embryonic “Hurricane Edward“, there is only one known “live” rendition (it sounds like tapes/machines) of “Interferance” (I’ve adopted the misspelling used when the track has been released): at the Bierkeller, Bristol, on 28 January 1997. This sole version has been officially released twice (not including reissues):
- Live Various Years (Cog Sinister/Voiceprint 2 x CD: COGVP111CD). Released September 1998. [Discogs]
- The Fall Box Set 1976-2007 (Castle/Sanctuary 5 x CD: CMXBX1558). Disc 5: Live Rarities. Released 10 September 2007. [Discogs]
The track is credited to Mark E. Smith and Julia Nagle.
